puce We support Massa Koné, spokesperson for the Malian Coalition against Land Grabbing
The rights advocate and activist for peasants against land and water grabbers was targeted by a serious assault
Clementine Converset-Doré

Touche pas à notre porte parole Massa Kone

A serious assault targeted Massa Koné and his family at their home during the night of Thursday, June 18 to Friday, June 19, 2020.

Men armed with assault rifles burst in and threatened the relatives of the Secretary General of the Union of Local Struggles against Land Grabbing UACDDD, also spokesperson for the Malian Coalition against Land Grabbing (CMAT) and the West African Convergence of Struggles for Land, Water and Peasant Seeds (CGLTE OA). Massa Koné is a member of the committee for the revival of global exchanges following the Global Forum on Access to Land (GFAT) in which he participated in 2016.

Massa Koné was fortunately out of town. The intention of the attackers was clearly not to stick to a simple burglary but to find him.

CMAT held a press conference on Thursday, June 25 to call on the Malian authorities to find and condemn the perpetrators and take the necessary measures to ensure the protection of Massa Koné and his family.

It also launched a call for solidarity that we are relaying here.
